Memorandum of the Meeting held on 13 August 2019
Dear respected Participants, as all you are aware that to plant more Trees and to care of the same, we need legal recognition i.e. a Legal Identity. So, in view of the same, today we held a meeting to discuss the process to obtain the Legal Recognition and more resources to our Noble Project.
Memorandum of the Meeting held on 13 August 2019 at 07:30 PM at VIP Road Zirakpur:
1. As discussed, we have to register our project as NGO under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
2. The Societies Registration Act, 1860 is a legislation in India which allows the registration of entities generally involved in the benefit of society/Charitable Purposes.
3. Registration under the Societies Act requires a lot of formalities.
4. Under the Act societies may be formed, by way of a memorandum of association, by any eleven or more people associated for any charitable purpose.
5. The memorandum of association has to be filed with the Registrar of Societies.
6. The memorandum has to contain the name of the society, its objects, and the names, addresses and occupations of the members of the governing body, by whatever name it may be called, duly signed for consent by all the members forming the society.
7. A copy of the rules and regulations of the society also has to be filed along with the memorandum of association.
8. Once the Charitable Project registered under The Societies Act, 1860, then we can obtain Section 80G Registration under the Income Tax Act, 1961 and the donor will get the benefit as Deduction.
So, in view of the same, we need maximum active participation. We request all the participants, to extend their co-operation in this noble project.
Regards
