Waste Management Workshop in Gazipur Dense Forest


A visit the dense forest developed by Green Planet Society and participate in a waste management workshop. We believe that your efforts and contributions will greatly support environmental conservation.

During this program, we provided with a guided tour of a beautiful, dense forest where you can connect with nature and witness the habitats of wildlife. Through our forest initiatives, we aim to provide with a unique experience of natural satisfaction.

Additionally, a waste management workshop in association with Pukaar NGO was organised. In this workshop, you can enhance your knowledge on crucial topics related to waste management and understand effective & Creative ways to manage waste properly.

17 June 2023, Zirakpur. Creative Waste Management Workshop organized by Green Planet Society in Association with Pukaar NGO and Municipal Council, Zirakpur at Dense forest, Gazipur Road, Zirakpur.

Benches was made using ECO bricks prepared by Pukaar. President of Pukaar Mrs. Shivan told that they are collecting used plastic bottles and filled with plastic waste to convert them into Eco Bricks. These bricks can be used for various public construction projects.

The event was followed by a Guided Miyawaki Forest Tour which is developed and maintained by the Green Planet Society. This forest is city’s first man made dense forest with provision of a walking trail and recreational area. President of Green Planet Society, Mr. Sumit Bhardwaz told that they have created this forest using Miyawaki method of urban forestation. Today in fast growing cities, space for plantation is very limited so that pollution and climate change is growing day by day. Urban forests are best solution to this problem. This type of forest is 10X faster in growth and 30X denser than any conventional forest.

Mr. Sukhwinder Singh from Municipal Council Swattch Bharat Mission Team explained the RRR project by the government. He told about Reduce, Reuse & Recycle the plastic waste.

Mr. Sanjeev Sethi from Bharat Vikas Parishad, Mr. Ram Gobal (SI, Municipal Council) also participated with their team and worked for betterment of the forest. Mr. Jagbir Singh Mehla (Gen. Secretary), KK Soni, Hukam Chand Sharma and other members from Green Planet Society attend the workshop.
